Don’t tell me what happens!
Irvine Welsh’s crime
Stream now BritBox.
To be honest, I avoided British mysteries because years out of personal fear that I’ll get addicted and don’t want to watch anything else – just like I feel with Anime and Netflix – and now the time has come!
I got addicted to it earlier this year Exercise of duty, a great crime series that forced me to subscribe to BritBox, where I spotted many other British TV shows that I’ve always wanted to watch but never got the time or access, and now – lo and behold – I’ve realized that the service has debuted a number of New Series including (recently) the piercing The long reputation, the haunting Smoke, the gripping Shetland, and grasping The tower.
This line of quality seems to continue in crime, created by Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting), who follows a troubled police inspector (Dougray Scott) who is supposed to investigate the disappearance of a girl from the area “while fighting inner demons”.
I hate demons, internal ones or others! Nevertheless, the teaser looks mighty good and I could only fuel my addiction today.

Speaking of temptations, I wrote about Kino Cult, a newly launched streaming service, in October where I noted, “Although watching a movie with metronomic commercial breaks can be irritating at best – unless you happen to need the products being advertised, he wrote with a look at the ads on his own website – the service has to be paid for.
“I haven’t had that deep dive into the catalog, but I love the fact that movie descriptions are shown when you click the title / cover and I like the selection that is available. It might be an especially good option for those of us with fine tastes but a limited budget. “
Kino Cult now offers the possibility to remove advertising from its service. According to the company’s announcement: “For only US $ 4.99 a month, you get completely ad-free access to the entire Kino Cult catalog!” The service reliably adds interesting titles every month. So if you like your combination of new and retro cult action, horror, comedy, and sci-fi action – but you don’t like commercials at all – the option to dig deeper into it is a little extra on your budget. Sounds reasonable to me. [Kino Cult]

Speaking of sensible, I wrote about the streaming service Midnight Pulp back in September when I noticed that the service specializes in “unusual” indie and international dishes. Over the months, the service has added more and more titles over time, and their curatorial tastes remain unconventional. As I noted, “Most of what is available now isn’t brand new, which is reminiscent of my old neighborhood video rental stores where I inevitably started scouring the shelves looking for something I hadn’t seen before especially when all the new releases were checked out ”.
As much as I like this kind of fancy selection, I was hesitant to add another streaming service to my monthly budget, but a new offer made me hit the button for an annual contract:
“If you want 50% off TONS of TONS of great, weird, original movies and shows with no ads, and you want to support indie companies doing something different, we’d say you need it
@midnight_pulp Premium. Offer ends on January 3rd! ” [Midnight Pulp]
Midnight porridge is only available in North America and US territories. Sorry to everyone in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and Antarctica.
Streaming now includes international and indie genre movies and TV shows available on legal streaming services.
