Taxpayers have begun receiving Child Tax Credit (CTC) advance payments and that is why the Internal Revenue Service has asked beneficiaries to beware of scammers, who take advantage of any time to steal your money.
You must be alert if you receive any suspicious phone calls, if you receive a text message or an email that refers to the CTC and its payments. Fraudsters can also contact you through social media.
The Internal Revenue Service will never contact you by any of these means to request information or establish contact with you. They will always do it through the official channel, which is via postal mail.
