‘Irritating influencers’ also have a chance to win Loden Leeuw from Radar

Antoinette Hertsenberg announced this last night at Jinek. Dozens of influencers promote products daily on Instagram or Youtube and Radar now wants to assess that way of advertising with the new category.

Concerns about young followers

In the Jinek broadcast, Hertsenberg said he was mainly concerned about the influencers’ mostly young followers. “Young people tend to follow such a person and tend to go along with it.”

She hopes to reach them with the new prize. “We hope to be able to reach those young groups to make it clear to them that it is advertising.”


‘Finding the inner self’

The news follows a day after the Radar item about the spice mixture Shambala for which radio DJ Giel Beelen advertises on his online channels.

Beelen says in a video that the mixture helps to ‘find the inner self’, but food experts criticize the drug. The ingredients could cause nasty and even dangerous side effects.
