The Council of Ministers accepted Resolution to approve additional payments under the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food for 2024 for the provision of a loan to “Irrigation systems” EAD in connection with the implementation of project proposals for the restoration of existing hydromelioration facilities for irrigation.
Provided as loan working capital will be used to implement project proposals under Selection Procedure No. BG06RDNP001-4.016 “For restoration of existing hydromelioration facilities for irrigation” under sub-measure 4.3 “Support for investments in infrastructure related to the development, modernization or adaptation of agriculture and forestry ” from measure 4. “Investments in tangible assets” from the Program for the Development of Rural Areas 2014 – 2020.
The government announcement did not specify the amount of the loan.
By this measure, the grant is 100%.
The reception under it started already in 2020 with just under 100 million BGN, and in 2021, 18 million BGN were added to the determined budget.
At the beginning of 2022, the implementation was stopped by the then minister Ivan Ivanov due to open violations in the implementation of the contracts.
On May 18, 2022, the restart of the application under the sub-measure was announced.
24 projects were approved.
In November 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture added another 5.1 million to the set budget of just over 107 million BGN, and so the final amount became 112,316,174.48 BGN.
