Ironworker Warren Tahar chose Creuse to set up his forge there

Originally from the Paris region, Warren Tahar created the Forge Vantarren in the town of Saint-Médard-la-Rochette. And he doesn’t hesitate to move to make himself known and promote the fine trade of iron and steel worker. This is how he brought a very popular animation to the Felletin Christmas market.

Duty mate

Warren Tahar is only 24 years old. Originally from the northern suburbs of Paris, he has trained with the Compagnons du Devoir and the Tour de France. This is how he discovered Creuse, of which he knew nothing: “I was immediately seduced by the region. I decided to live there. I had the opportunity to find a home in a nice little town. I moved”.

Here he is a steelworker and metalsmith, proud of the training he received alongside the Compagnons du Devoir. “I was immersed in creation from an early age, where everything that passed through my hands was an opportunity to do something. I continued on this path until university where I started working for myself on wood and metal. After high school, I joined the Association Ouvrier des Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France, to begin my apprenticeship as a blacksmith and metalworker”, explains the young man who lived in his companion’s house in Pantin for the two years of his apprenticeship at the Habitat in Paris.

Two gold medals

“During this period, I obtained two medals (departmental gold and regional silver) in the Best Apprentice competition in France. Once I got my first diploma, I set off on my trip to France. This allowed me to work in different cities such as Montpellier, Nîmes, Angers or Reims and to arrive in Creuse. »

Why did they choose Creuse? The Mountain gives voice to those who have left everything to live here

For two years, in his workshop on the heights of Saint-Médard, he has been working for individuals and companies, responding to the most varied orders. He recently created sets for a theater company. He is obviously, by taste, very open to artistic creations.
