‘Iron Man’ Yoon Seong-bin (27, Gangwon Provincial Office) finished 17th at the 2020-21 International Bobsleigh Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Championships. He couldn’t make up for his early mistakes and was pushed out of the top 10.

Yoon Sung-bin was ranked 17th in the IBSF Men’s Skeleton Match held in Altenberg, Germany on the 12th (Korean time) with a total of 3 minutes 50 seconds 97 in the 1st-4th period.

Germany’s Christopher Crotier won the championship for the second year in a row at 3:46:31. Alexander Tretiakov of Russia won the silver medal at 3:46:59, and Alexander Gasner (3:47:51, Germany) won the bronze medal.

Yoon Sung-bin, who aimed for the first gold medal at the world championship, was disappointed with his early mistakes. The start was good in the 1st and 2nd seasons, but the mistakes made during the driving were painful.

Yun Seong-bin, who won gold medals in both the Olympics and the World Cup, was able to achieve the feat of gold medals in all competitions, including the world championships, when winning this event.

In the World Cup series that took place before the World Championships, Yoon Sung-bin won a bronze medal in the 6th competition and a silver medal in the 7th competition.

In the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), he was unable to participate in the first half of the tournament and performed well compared to the sixth tournament. The voice of concern was loud due to the gap in the actual sense of practice, but the name was valued as he climbed the podium.

After completing all schedules this season, Yoon Seong-bin will start preparing for the 2020 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Jeong Seung-gi (22, Catholic Kwandong University), who participated together, was in 20th place (3 minutes 53 seconds 13), and Kim Ji-su (27, Gangwon Provincial Office) ranked 24th with a total of 2 minutes 55 seconds 54 during the first and third periods.
