Irizar UK had shelved the project in recent years in light of Brexit and the pandemic. After two strong sales years in 2023 and 2024, the bus manufacturer is now taking up the project again. The new UK headquarters is intended to support Irizar’s growth in the country. As is well known, the largest e-bus market in Europe has developed in Great Britain.
The headquarters will span over 16,000 square meters and include office space, a showroom, bus handover facilities and a large parking lot for buses. Irizar had already acquired the area in 2018, but put the project on hold due to the subsequent economic uncertainties.
Andrew Blundell, Managing Director of Irizar UK, describes the resumption of plans as an important milestone for Irizar in the UK. “We have reached an important transition stage in the company’s development and investing in our own premises will allow us to further expand our market position in the UK.”
Irizar is currently showing three vehicles at the Euro Bus Expo, including an electric bus: the Irizar ie tram.
