The New York Iris Festival takes place on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Brooklyn Grange in Sunset Park. Initiators Hub.brussels and the city of Brussels chose this “vertical farm” with a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline.
At the event, typical Belgian products such as beer, waffles and chocolate can be tasted, but important Brussels companies are also promoted. The American visitors to the Iris Festival can also win a trip to Brussels.
At the same time, the Belgian capital also wants to profile itself in New York as a sustainable and circular city that wants to contribute to the climate objectives. That is why the ecological location of the Brooklyn Grange was chosen.
In Brussels, the Irisfeest will take place again after a two-year hiatus due to the corona pandemic. For an entire weekend, on Saturday 7 and 8 May, it will be celebrated with various events, walks, food trucks and performances in the many parks and neighborhoods of the capital.
