“Iris: A Theatrical and Sensory Experience for Early Childhood at Peru’s National Theater”

The Great National Theater of the Ministry of Culture of Peru announces the latest performances of Iris, a theatrical, playful, sensory and participatory experience created by the Floating Company exclusively for early childhood (6-month-old babies to 3-year-old boys and girls).

The show developed in a room designed with elements of fiction, instrumental music and colored lights will be presented on the days May 13, 14, 20 and 21 (Saturdays and Sundays) at 3:00, 4:15 and 5:30 in the afternoon.

This innovative and magical production, aimed at the smallest members of the household, also involves parents, older siblings, godparents and grandparents. It tells the story of a tender old woman with an elusive memory who remembers passages from her life as she weaves.

She will activate her feelings, dreams and personal desires with interaction and collective play, with fish, forests or bubbles appearing on the scene and feeling the breeze of the wind, the smell of the sea and the heat of the sun.

What will happen in the theater?

Boys and girls will connect with their environment displaying compassionate, passionate and respectful behaviors, also learning to value themselves and trust in their abilities and skills. An important objective for the audience will be to understand that in order to heal this planet, it is necessary to stimulate noble feelings and spread moral values, freely opening hearts so that love, trust, fair judgment and honesty can enter.

Mothers, fathers, grandparents, uncles and godparents will carry out a transcendental task in the Iris process, playing with their puppets, enjoying each piece of music together and accompanying them at key moments to create new paths towards natural beauty and learning.

Tickets are on sale at Joinnus. Admission is by order of arrival with a capacity of 70 people per function. The presence of the minor always accompanied by an adult relative is considered an entry.
