Irenka from Inheritance or Kurvahošigutntág: Šárka Vojtková escaped from the Czech Republic, today she is the queen of sculptures

This year, 32 years have passed since the birth of the comedy film from director Věra Chytilová’s studio. Of course, rock fans remember not only the excellent Bolek Polívka as Bohuš Stejskal, but also other representatives of secondary roles, including the character of the erotic masseuse Irenka, played by Šárka Vojtková. But today, she would rather be happy if her biggest film engagement was forgotten.

Fast track to unwanted fame

The audition for the role of Irenka was recommended to Šárka Vojtková by her well-known photographer. Until then, she sometimes earned extra money as a photo model while studying. She was only eighteen years old then. She succeeded in the casting. Paradoxically, the director Chytilová chose her for the role precisely because of her seemingly innocent girlish appearance and beauty. At the same time, however, she was not shy about going naked in front of the camera, which the director appreciated.

But the representative of the shameless sex worker Irenka, who shone in the film alongside Bolek Polívka as Bohuš, was remembered by the audience more than the actress herself would have liked. The role of money-hungry erotic worker has already remained with her. That’s how people began to perceive her in reality. The only significant and important role of the actress, which really made her famous, also brought with her a very dark side.

A more significant role did not come

Even due to the negative perception and criticism from some individuals, the fame of the film Irenka, which quickly began, did not continue significantly in the following years after its filming. Since then, Šárka Vojtková has had only a few minor roles, which had no chance of surpassing her most controversial character. And that’s where the problems started. In the end, the pressure of the public and the tabloids resulted in Šárčin feeling bad about life in the Czech Republic, because she felt that she was constantly being perceived as a shameless Irish woman, and moreover, she was constantly under the microscope of her surroundings.

A sad escape from the Czech Republic

The surrounding influences grew stronger until the actress stopped feeling comfortable in her native country. She therefore decided to go into seclusion and stay away from public life once and for all. She refused to continue acting: “I didn’t want to anymore. A lot of people thought that I was playing myself as Irenka, that they really pulled me out of some company,” Šárka confided to the website zeny.iprima.cz. The fact that she earned a decent amount of money for her engagement by the standards of the time, the fee for the character of Irenka was 50 thousand crowns, didn’t change much either. In the end, she moved to Italy for a while.

She became the queen of plastic and changed almost beyond recognition

After leaving her homeland, Šárka Vojtková married an older Italian. And she also started to prosper professionally. She discovered a knack for aesthetic adjustments and fashion styling. She started a business, and despite the skeleton in the closet caused by the infamous role, which she still does not like to carry with her, she partially returned home after all. She lives alternately in the Italian city of Modena in the north of Italy and in Brno, where she opened her own beauty and hairdressing salon.

Today, when someone does recognize Šárka, who has changed almost beyond recognition due to her most famous film character, she says, she is not at all pleased. This happens most often in the case of her customers, who dare to ask her about the role here and there. Vojtková just has to answer again that she has nothing to do with her rude protagonist.
