entertainment">One of those things was auditioning for a musical, for example. “I have had the ambition to do something in a musical. Carlo did too, he was an innkeeper at Les Miserables and they asked me to be the innkeeper’s wife. So I auditioned and that was all very exciting ”, says Irene.

entertainment">Unfortunately, she did not pass the audition round and was rejected for other musicals as well. Yet the presenter has benefited from it. “I thought it was great fun to do, but I also thought it was not surprising that it did not happen, although Carlo encouraged it.”

entertainment">“Carlo has motivated me to do things like this anyway,” she continues. “From Telekids with Spicy Times, I thought that was a very bad idea because we were going to ridicule the best running and most popular soap in the Netherlands (Good times, bad times, ed.). I really just did that because he continued to do so and of course that was a big hit. After that I dared to do more things. I dare many more things thanks to him. ”
