Biography, honors, statistics: Séamus John James Given was born on April 20, 1976 in Lifford, Republic of Ireland. He made his professional debut in 1994 at Blackburn Rovers, which loaned him to Swindon Town that same year and in 1996. He also spent a few months on loan at Sunderland. In 1997 he was hired by Newcastle, where he stayed until 2009. After two years at Manchester City, he was signed by Aston Villa, where he spent four seasons, although one of them was on loan at Middlesbrough.
