“Ireland Captain Séamus Coleman Suffers Serious Leg Injury During Match Against Leicester City”

Ireland captain Séamus Coleman has suffered a serious leg injury playing against Leicester City, which may rule him out of Ireland’s two Euro 2024 qualifiers next month. The injury occurred in the 43rd minute as he challenged for the ball with Leicester midfielder Boubakary Soumaré, resulting in Coleman being stretchered off the pitch. Everton tweeted that he left the pitch with a “serious-looking injury”. This comes as a blow for Ireland boss Stephen Kenny, who will be anxiously awaiting news on the extent of Coleman’s injury. The 34-year-old previously suffered a broken leg on international duty in March 2017, leaving him sidelined for almost a year.
