Iraqi National Team reportedly will seriously fight back Indonesian National team in the 2026 World Cup Qualification which is also the 2027 Asian Cup Qualification.
In recent weeks, Iraqi media has been busy reporting comments from a number of former Iraqi national team players criticizing coach Jesus Casas’ scheme.
The reason is, in several matches Casas is said to have often changed players, especially in the back line. The result was that Iraq was easily penetrated by the opponent and had difficulty winning during the 90 minute match.
In the last six matches in all competitions, Iraq lost twice in 90 minutes, the last four matches ended in draws. However, because the last four matches went to penalty shootouts, Iraq recorded three penalty wins and one loss.
However, it is quoted Winwincoach Jesus Casas will change his habit of experimenting against the Indonesian National Team at the Basra Stadium, Thursday (16/11).
“Casas decided to get rid of the habit of experimenting with new players and names for the Iraqi national team, because the Spanish coach decided to choose players who were his priorities,” said one source at the Iraqi Football Federation.
“It’s time to get serious and the real official test for the Iraqi national team will be before Indonesia in the qualifiers,” the source added.
In the report, it was stated that Jesus Casas would rely on a number of main players such as captain Jalal Hassan, Amir Al Amari, and young player Zidane Iqbal.
“Casas will rely heavily on the pillars of the Iraqi national team, Aymen Hussein, Ali Al-Hammadi, Zidane Iqbal, Ibrahim Bayesh, Amir Al-Amari, Amjad Attwan, Saad Natiq, Hussein Ali, Merchas Doski and Jalal Hassan,” said the source.
However, so far Jesus Casas is said to have not decided who will play as right-back against the Indonesian national team.
