Iran’s Vice President, Zarif, plans to resign due to disagreements
Former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who was recently appointed as the vice president of the republic, announced his intention to resign. He announced this on the social network by publishing a corresponding post.
“I am dissatisfied with the result of my work and I am surprised that I have not been able to communicate adequately with the views of select committees regarding the participation of women, young people and minorities as promised. Along with other reasons, the opportunity opened for me to continue my path at the university,” wrote Zarif on his page on the social network.
Zarif also expressed that his departure would address some of the problems he identified, as several vice-presidential positions are still vacant. He wished success to the new government and thanked the president for the trust and the opportunity to participate in the establishment of the cabinet of ministers.
