“Given the increase in the intensity of the war against the civilian population of Gaza, the expansion of the scale of the war has become imminent,” the Iranian minister told his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurrahman al-Thani in a telephone conversation.

Iran supports Hamas financially and militarily. Tehran has also praised the Hamas attack on Israel, calling it a success, but denies being involved in any way.
Iran believes it is “its duty to support the resistance groups,” said Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, insisting they operate independently.
Raisi will join Arab leaders in the Saudi capital on Saturday for a summit that is expected to demand that Israel end attacks on the Gaza Strip before other countries are drawn into the violence.
Iran does not recognize Israel, and since the 1979 Islamic revolution, support for the Palestinian cause has been the central theme of its foreign policy.
