Iran’s President Raisi’s Absence at Turkey Summit: Al-Arabiya Reports

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi did not arrive in Ankara for the summit announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a conversation with journalists on November 11 on the way from Riyadh. The TV channel reports this “Al-Arabiya”.

The negotiations, which were to take place on November 28, were actively discussed in the Turkish media, but in Iran the press remained silent about the upcoming visit. At the government level, no statements were made about the upcoming visit of the head of state.

Turkey has become one of the most outspoken critics of the campaign in the Gaza Strip launched by Israel in response to an attack by Hamas militants. He called Israel a terrorist state and Iran-backed Hamas a national liberation movement.

At the same time, the channel notes: these statements did not have any specific consequences; Israel’s economic ties with Turkey continue to develop. Tehran is extremely unhappy with this separation of politics and economics.
