He argues that western countries talk about human dignity but are involved in supporting criminal regimes. Pezeshkian said that western countries do not understand these concepts at all.

“People’s lives, especially women and children, have no value for them, and all their claims are lies,” he said.

Iran’s president criticized Western countries for making “empty promises”, saying they had asked Iran to impose sanctions in response to Israel’s assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July, in exchange for a stop- a truce and an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

“The continuation of the crimes of the Zionist regime forces the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran to give a strong response,” Pezeshkian said.

On Tuesday (1/10), Iran launched a barrage of missiles at Israeli military and intelligence facilities in a retaliatory operation, triggering sirens in several Palestinian territories.

Flares and missiles were seen in the skies over Tel Aviv, with explosions reported in other areas. Iran’s operation was carried out in response to the assassination of several key figures, including Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah, and Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Khaled Meshaal, former head of Hamas and current director of the organization’s diaspora office, was present at the meeting with Pezeshkian. He praised Iran’s military operation, saying it was an important achievement that restored its deterrence capabilities.

Meshaal said that the blood of resistance leaders will finally win for the Palestinian people and he emphasized that coordinated efforts would eventually end Israel’s aggression in Gaza.
