Iranian Star Ali Shah Criticizes Condition of Azadi Stadium After AFC Champions League Match

Iranian star Ali Shah criticized the floor of the famous Azadi Stadium in Tehran, after his team, Persepolis, faced Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday evening, in the AFC Champions League.

The players of both teams suffered from the poor pitch, as dirt holes covered various spots on the pitch.

Ali Shah seemed angry after the match: “Al-Nasr players ask us, is it a stadium or a farm? If I talk now, they will say that we are complaining.”

He added: “Even against all the teams I faced, I had never seen a stadium this bad. It was a shame to play against a big team like Al-Nasr with its stars in this stadium.”

Shah confirmed that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo complained about the pitch and appeared dissatisfied.

Shah said: “It was not only Ronaldo who complained, but also my players complained about the bad condition of the Azadi Stadium.”

It is noteworthy that Al-Nasr won 2-0 over Peruzzi, in the team’s first match in the AFC Champions League.
