The Revolutionary Guard vows to “eliminate” Israel in retaliation for the killing of the “supply” commander in Syria
The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard pledged to “eliminate” Israel, in retaliation for the killing of his forces’ supply official in Syria, Radhi Mousavi, but he said that the Palestinian fighters would be the ones who would do that, at a time when the Iranian guide, Ali Khamenei, led the funeral prayer over the body of the leader who died in An air strike on the Sayyida Zeinab area, and Tehran accused Israel of being behind it.
Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami said that Mousavi “was one of the most experienced and influential leaders of the resistance front,” attributing his killing as a response to the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operations. He added: “Nothing less than erasing the Zionist entity will be enough for us to take revenge,” noting that he carried out regional missions for 33 years.
Reuters quoted him as saying: “I hope, with God’s help, that the great and honorable Palestinian fighters will soon remove the geographical and political name of this evil, false regime.”
Salami’s speech came at a ceremony in which the Revolutionary Guards mobilized for Mousavi’s funeral in Tehran, after he stood behind Khamenei in the funeral prayer over Mousavi’s body. Pictures published by the Iranian Supreme Leader’s office show the presence of the commander of the Quds Force, Ismail Qaani, and his deputy, Mohammad Reza Falahzadeh.
Both Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad and the head of the Syrian National Security Service, Ali Mamlouk, attended Mousavi’s funeral ceremony in Tehran, according to photos published by Iranian media.

Iranian military officials accused Israel of being behind the attack on Mousavi’s headquarters. Some of them said that “Israel aims to drag their country into a direct confrontation, including with the United States.”
Despite Iranian accusations against Israel, the Iranian President’s Deputy Legal Affairs Officer, Mohammad Dehghan, called for the “necessity” of identifying and punishing those responsible for the killing of Reza Mousavi. He said: “Any crime committed against any of Iran’s followers, it is our duty to follow up on this issue and determine the identity of those responsible, who may be prosecuted in other countries.”
Separating Soleimani from the “Al-Aqsa Flood”
Salami said that the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation carried out by the “Hamas” movement against Israel on the 7th of last October was “completely Palestinian,” in a second confirmation of the retraction of what the spokesman of the Revolutionary Guard, Ramadan Sharif, said on Wednesday about… Motives for that process.
The Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, quoted Salami as saying that the operation “was planned and implemented by the Palestinians, and no movement from outside Palestine interfered in creating this dazzling victory and creating this great flood, as the issue was entirely Palestinian.” .

Revolutionary Guard spokesman Ramadan Sharif said, “Operation (Al-Aqsa Flood) was one of the retaliatory operations taken by the axis of resistance” against Israel for the killing of Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the “Quds Force,” the military and intelligence operations arm of the “Revolutionary Guard” outside the borders. Iranian.
On Wednesday, the Hamas movement quickly published a statement refuting the statements of the Revolutionary Guard spokesman, and said: “We have repeatedly emphasized the motives and reasons for Operation (Al-Aqsa Flood), foremost among which are the dangers threatening Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
After the Hamas statement, the Revolutionary Guards media published a brief statement saying that the spokesman’s statements were “misunderstood,” and published an amendment to the spokesman’s statement saying that “the results of (the Al-Aqsa flood) are part of revenge for the assassination of General Soleimani.”
Despite the Revolutionary Guards’ attempt to amend what was stated by Sharif, Salami confirmed this retraction, saying: “The spokesman for the Guards said yesterday that the Al-Aqsa Flood operation was revenge for Soleimani. In turn, I want to say that these two issues are separate, that is, (Al-Aqsa Flood) is independent of our movement to avenge the killing of Soleimani, which is “in a special circumstance, against those who gave the orders and the perpetrators of the assassination of Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and their companions,” according to what the “Fars” agency affiliated with the “Revolutionary Guard” reported.
Salami said that “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood is a reaction by the Palestinians to 75 years of occupation and the crimes committed against them.”
Iran is preparing to commemorate the fourth anniversary of Soleimani’s killing by an American air strike, ordered by former President Donald Trump in early 2020, which threatened to ignite a direct war between the two countries.
