– Iranian President Hassan Rohany referred to US President Donald Trump as a “tyrant” and “terrorist and murderer,” and said, “It’s a great pleasure to watch Trump leave.”
According to Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency, President Rohany said at a cabinet meeting on the 16th (local time) that “I am not happy that Joe Biden is coming, but I am really happy that Trump is leaving.” “Thank God for the end of his term.”
President Rohany also referred to President Trump as a’tyrant’,’the most arbitrary outlaw president’, and a’terrorist and killer’ who prevented even buying a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine. “It created an obstacle to living,” he criticized. “This shows how far away from ethical and human principles he is.”
President Rohany referred to President-elect Biden on this day, hoping to improve relations between the two countries after Biden took office. Earlier, President Rohanie had expressed expectations that, on several occasions, when Biden was elected as the next president of the United States, relations with the United States could be reversed before Trump took office.
President Rohany said, “The Americans voted to keep their promises (in the presidential election),” and “I hope the will of the Americans will be fulfilled.” The “observance of the promise” referred to by President Rohani means the return of the United States to the “Iran nuclear agreement” (JCPOA, Comprehensive Joint Action Plan) signed by the two countries at the time of former President Barack Obama in 2015.
The two countries greatly resolved the hostilities by agreeing to a JCPOA with the main content of lifting US sanctions against Iran instead of restricting Iran’s nuclear activities. However, the Trump administration unilaterally abolished the JCPOA and restored most of the sanctions against Iran.
