Iranian government arrests Oscar-winning actress

The Iranian government arrested one of the country’s top actresses this weekend. The Oscar-winning actress has been accused of spreading lies about the nationwide protests gripping Iran.

Reporting from various sources, Oscar-winning film star through film The Salesman, Taraneh Alidosti was detained for a week after making a post on Instagram.

In a recent post, he expressed solidarity with the recently executed man for crimes allegedly committed during the protests. The 38-year-old actress wrote the following sentence:

“His name is Mohsen Shekari, every international organization that witnessed this bloodshed and failed to act is a disgrace to humanity,” the celebrity wrote.

Not only the actress was arrested, but also footballers, actors and other influencers on Instagram.

They issued an open statement to the anti-government demonstrations which are already in their third month.

According to reports published on the state media’s Telegram channel, actress Taraneh Alidosti was arrested for failing to provide documents that matched her claims.

“Several other Iranian celebrities have also been summoned by the judiciary for posting provocative content,” the statement read.

They too were arrested. “Unfortunately there are no further details on the case,” she continued.
