KOYA, NORTHERN IRAQ (Aftenposten): For six hours, drones and missiles rained down on the village. Opposition Iranians in the neighboring country live in constant fear of new attacks.
He had just put on his shoe when the first missile hit.
Zanyar Rahmani (28) was at work at the “Castle” headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) in the town of Koya, in northern Iraq.
It was just after 10.30. A few hours earlier she had seen observation drones flying over the area. She realized that something was brewing.
Now it was crashing all around him. Rahmani had only one thought in mind: he had to go home to his heavily pregnant wife.
As he ran towards the field where the couple lived, blood poured from his head. As he approached his house, a missile crashed into the ground a few feet away. Then everything went black.
Now Western intelligence fears that more people will have to prepare for what Zanyar Rahmani experienced that day.
