TEHERAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian welcomed the lifting of some US sanctions against Tehran’s civilian nuclear program. However, Iran said the move was “not enough.”

Sanctions were eased as part of US President Joe Biden’s administration’s efforts to talk Iran back into the 2015 nuclear deal.

“The lifting of some sanctions can, in the truest sense, translate into the goodwill Americans are talking about, but it must be recognized that what is happening on paper is good but not enough,” Amir-Abdollahian told Iran’s state-run INSA news agency on Friday. Saturday (5/2/2022).
