Iran threatens regional tension over new Israeli-US alliance

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that this pact would not only fail to guarantee security and stability, but “in itself is the main cause of tension and regional division.”

This is an international agreement, prepared at the initiative of the United States and Israel, which should lay the foundation for a security alliance with the Arab states and unite the air defense systems of the countries of the Middle East region to counter the Iranian threat.

Apparently, this topic will be one of the central ones during the talks of US President Joe Biden during his upcoming visit to the Middle East.

Note that Iran and Western countries are trying to restore the agreement of 2015, according to which Tehran limited its nuclear program in exchange for exemption from US, EU and UN economic sanctions. Then US President Donald Trump abandoned the agreement in 2018 and imposed tough sanctions.

As Axios reported, Israel shared intelligence with the United States and European partners, according to which Iran already has the ability to receive enriched uranium of the quality required for the manufacture of nuclear weapons.

Later, Israel said that Iran came close to creating nuclear weapons. Tehran is enriching uranium at an unprecedented rate.
