TEHRAN, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) — The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRCS) announced on Saturday that it has set up an emergency accommodation camp and a field hospital on the Lebanese-Lebanon border. Syrian government to welcome displaced and injured Lebanese.
This initiative was taken following the intensification of Israeli attacks against Lebanon, said Pirhossein Kolivand, president of the IRCS, in a press release.
Mr. Kolivand said that the camp, made up of hundreds of tents equipped with basic necessities, could shelter thousands of displaced Lebanese, and that the hospital would soon be equipped to treat the wounded Lebanese.
The IRCS could expand the camp area in the future, he added.

Since September 23, the Israeli army has intensified its airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon, causing numerous civilian casualties and forcing residents in many areas to leave their homes. On September 30, it launched a ground offensive in southern Lebanon. END
