Tehran. Iran resumed activity at its airports this Thursday, state media reported, after a brief suspension of all flights following the missile attack against Israel.
The Islamic Republic launched about 200 missiles at Israel on Tuesday night, its second direct attack against its archenemy after missile and drone action in April.
For security reasons against a possible Israeli retaliation, Tehran canceled all domestic and international flights until Thursday at 05:00 (01:30 GMT).
The spokesman for the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, Jafar Yazarloo, confirmed the resumption of flights and the end of these restrictions.
“After ensuring favorable and safe flight conditions and lifting restrictions, airlines are allowed to carry out their flight operations,” he was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency recommended the continent’s airlines avoid Iranian airspace until October 31.
This body issued similar advisories for Israel and Lebanon over the weekend.
