Iran repeatedly denies, finally admits to sending drones to Russia

Tehran

Authority Iran admitted for the first time to delivering drone supplies to Russia, his ally. But Tehran insists the drones were delivered before Russia invaded Ukraine at the end of last February.

“We provided Russia with a limited number of drones, a few months before the war in Ukraine,” Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said from the state news agency. IRNA and reported AFPSaturday (5/11/2022).

Ukraine and its Western allies have accused Russia of using Iranian-made drones and supplies in its attacks on Ukraine in recent weeks. Tehran has repeatedly denied the allegations.

Iran has repeatedly denied that it sent Russia supplies of weapons for use in the war in Ukraine.

“In a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian foreign minister last week, we agreed that if there is evidence (of Moscow’s use of Iranian drones), he will hand it over to us,” Amir-Abdollahian said in a statement.

“If the Ukrainian side keeps its promise, we can discuss this issue in the next few days and we will consider their evidence.”

In his statement, Amir-Abdollahian also once again denied that his country had sent missile supplies to Russia. He called the allegations “completely false”. A major media report in the Washington Post on Oct.6 stated that Iran was preparing to send missiles to Russia.
