The overall balance in the Middle East is entering uncharted waters, as the US now practically takes a position in favor of Israel in the regional conflict that can erupt at any time with Iran, as a result of which Tehran announced that it is stopping indirect talks with the United States in Oman.
The announcement on the part of Iran to withdraw from the “Muscat process” was made by the country’s foreign minister Abbas Araghtsi himself during his visit to Oman, stressing that: “We do not see at the moment that these talks have any content, as long as we have overcome the current crisis. This process has stopped due to the conditions in the region.”
The announcement comes as Israel, in consultation with Washington, weighs its options for the response it has made clear it will give to the ballistic missile attack launched by Iran to avenge the killings of Haniya and Nasrallah.
In this context of increased… consultation and joint preparation to ensure that the next move on the part of Tehran in response to the upcoming Israeli attack, will go ahead, the US announced that it has transferred an array of the advanced THAAD anti-missile system to Israel. At the same time, as it became known, the operators of the anti-missile system, who are American soldiers, went to Israel.
Experts note that the announcement by Tehran is not a coincidence that it was made a few hours after the Pentagon announced that it is transferring personnel and the THAAD system to Israel.
