Iran: Passengers were still alive 19 seconds after plane missile impact

The contents of the black box have been investigated in France in recent months. Today Touraj Dehghani-Zanganeh, the head of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, released the first official statement on the content of the data and voice recordings from the cockpit.

Two missiles

“In the nineteen seconds after the first missile hits the plane, the voices of pilots in the cockpit indicate that the passengers are alive,” Dehghani-Zanganeh said on state television. Then recording will stop, presumably because the equipment has been damaged.

“25 seconds after the first impact, the second missile hits the plane.” Then the plane crashes.

All 176 passengers, including nine crew members, were killed in the action.

Iranian air defense fired Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) passenger plane from the air in early January, just after it took off from Tehran.

Shot accidentally

Iran later confessed that it was a “disastrous mistake” by the military. The army was in the highest state of alert because of a confrontation with the United States. Iran has admitted that the plane was accidentally shot down because it was mistaken for an enemy plane.
