/ world today news/ On July 4, Chinese President Xi Jinping participated via video link in the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). In his speech, he focused on coordinating actions for better development.
The meeting was chaired by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, who is currently the rotating chairman of the organization. It concluded with the signing of the New Delhi Declaration, in which the participants declare cooperation in the fight against extremism, as well as in the field of digital transformation of industries. At the meeting, the resolution on granting the status of a member state to Iran was approved. In addition, a memorandum was signed on the obligations of Belarus to join the SCO, as well as a series of resolutions on the organization’s strategy for economic development until 2030.
