Iran: No explosion in nuclear facility | Abroad

Local media reported that residents of Badrud, about 20 kilometers away, heard a major explosion. “Badrud residents heard the sound and saw a light indicating that an object had exploded in the sky over the city,” a witness told IRNA news agency.

But soon after, the military issued a statement. “An hour ago, one of our missile systems was tested in the region to assess its state of readiness on the ground, and there is nothing to fear,” an army spokesman said. “To evaluate the systems in the region, such exercises are conducted in a fully secured environment and in full coordination with the integrated defense network.”

There is a uranium enrichment plant in Natanz. The complex has been the target of several attacks attributed to Israel. Israel wants to prevent Iran from having nuclear weapons.
