“We are ready to cooperate with the Islamic world in the development of nuclear technology that is in line with the welfare of the Muslim Ummah and society, in order to pave the way for a new Islamic civilization,” Kamalvandi said in remarks commemorating the Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW as quoted from Sputnik, Sunday (24/10/2021).
Referring to the unilateralism of the power of intimidation, Kamalvandi noted that the assets of the Muslim world today are the result of the continued efforts of scientists.

“Here, we have made every effort to reach the limits of nuclear science and technology, and despite all the hostility in the international arena, we have made great strides in the nuclear industry,” Kamalvandi added.
Meanwhile, the United States (US) and its partners around the world believe that negotiations to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear agreement, should resume immediately. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the US State Department, Ned Price.
The JCPOA, which forced Iran to curb its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, has been on hiatus since the Trump administration withdrew the US in 2018. After pulling out of the deal, the White House at the time restored sanctions on Iran.

In response to Trump’s move, Iran began producing higher-purity uranium and in larger quantities than allowed under the nuclear deal, though none came close to being used to make a nuclear bomb.
Since US President Joe Biden took office, six rounds of talks aimed at reviving the JCPOA have been held in Vienna, but no agreement has yet been reached.
