Iran is preparing an attack on Israel using more powerful warheads and “alternative weapons” not used in the previous two attacks.

An Egyptian official told the WSJ that Tehran privately warned Cairo that its response to Israeli airstrikes on its territory on October 26 – in retaliation for the Islamic Republic’s October 1 ballistic missile attack – would be “strong and complicated.”

An Iranian official said that since its military had lost four soldiers and one civilian, a response was necessary.

The report said the Iranian military would be involved in the operation, marking a departure from the April 13-14 and October 1 missile attacks by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.

The official said the attack would target Israeli military targets “much more aggressively than the last time” and that Iraqi territory could be used to launch the missiles.
