The assessment was conveyed by European diplomats negotiating with Iran.

The 2015 JCPOA aims to prevent Iran from developing an atomic bomb, a goal Tehran has always denied. The deal ensures sanctions relief in exchange for strict restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program, which is placed under extensive UN monitoring.
Diplomats from Iran, Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia, signatories to the 2015 agreement, are attending the current talks.
“We’ve been engaged for hours, and all the delegates have put pressure on Iran to be reasonable,” the diplomats, from Britain, France and Germany, were quoted as saying. AFP, Tuesday (14/12/2021).
“Until now, we still can’t get down to real negotiations,” they added.
“We are losing valuable time dealing with Iran’s new position that is inconsistent with the JCPOA or that goes beyond it.”
