(Tehran = Yonhap News) Correspondent Lee Seung-min = International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) officials will visit Iran soon, said Mohammad Eslami, director of the Atomic Energy Agency of Iran (AEOI ).

According to the state-run IRNA news agency on the 14th (local time), Commissioner Eslamy informed reporters that day that “in the coming days, IAEA officials will visit Tehran to discuss the outstanding issue.”

“Iran hopes to resolve unresolved challenges with the IAEA and continue cooperation with the IAEA,” Eslamy said.

Citing an IAEA report, Reuters reported that Iran had agreed to discuss the issue of undeclared nuclear material in the country with the IAEA.

The issue of undeclared nuclear materials has been a key issue in talks on restoring the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which is currently stalled.

The areas in question are known as Turkubabad, Mariban and Baramin, which have previously been identified by Israel as the site of Iran’s covert nuclear activities.

Last month the IAEA board passed a resolution calling for an inspection of nuclear material at the three sites.

Iran has insisted that the nuclear deal be restored only if the IAEA withdraws its investigations into these areas.
