Tel Aviv, Jul 5 (Sputnik) – Iran has decided to attack Israel, Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on Monday, as quoted by The Jerusalem Post.
Iran’s message reportedly reached Israel via Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who called Katz directly to explain that he received this information from the acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri.
“Iran has informed us that it intends to attack Israel,” Katz said, adding that “the world must exact a price from Iran for any aggressive action it takes.”
The reports come amid the latest escalation of tensions between the Islamic Republic and the Hebrew state following the assassination in Tehran of the political leader of the Palestinian group Hamas, Ismail Haniya, and the death of the military commander of the Lebanese movement Hezbollah, Fuad Shukr, in an Israeli attack in Beirut.
