Iran condemns the IAEA’s decision and criticizes “American hypocrisy”. News

Iran has renewed its condemnation of the recent decision by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, describing it as a political decision aimed at putting pressure on it, while emphasizing its willingness to adequately respond to Western practices .

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that Iran’s nuclear program is the most transparent with respect to the number of plants supervised by the International Atomic Energy Agency in the world.

On Thursday, the IAEA Board of Governors in Vienna adopted a resolution denouncing Iran’s lack of cooperation with the IAEA, the second of its kind after a similar resolution last June.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the use of international organizations as a “tool against independent countries” had become a standard in Western foreign policy, as he said.

Kanaani added that his country will not give in to pressure and will go ahead with its peaceful nuclear program according to its needs, stressing that Tehran is ready to respond adequately to Western practices.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the decision by the board of directors of the International Atomic Energy Agency is “a continuation of today’s US policy of hypocrisy” through the “political exploitation” of the IAEA, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported on Sunday.

Interestingly, negotiations between the Western powers and Tehran to revive the 2015 deal limiting Iran’s nuclear activities have stalled.
