Iran Blames Israel and US for Gaza Strip Fighting: Jakarta Government

Jakarta

Government Iran blame Israel and the United States over the resumption of fighting in Gaza Strip.

“After killing more than 15,000 Palestinians, the Zionist vampires are starting a new round of killings under the continuous support of the American government,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, as quoted by the news agency. AFPFriday (1/12/2023).

The deadly battle begins again in Gaza on Friday (1/12), immediately after the end of a seven-day ceasefire between Israel and Iran-backed Hamas.

Kanani added that “political and legal responsibility for the continuation of aggression and massacres” lies with Israel, United States of America and “several countries supported this apartheid regime.”

Earlier on Thursday (30/11), US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, meeting with Israeli and Palestinian officials, called for the pause in fighting to be extended, and warned that the resumption of fighting must protect Palestinian civilians.

Other world leaders, and aid groups, have also called for a longer pause in fighting.

“Nations and most governments in the world call for the continuation of the ceasefire and a complete cessation of the Zionist regime’s attacks on Gaza and the West Bank,” Kanani said.
