Iran arrests video of Hengameh artist Ghaziani Gegara without hijab

Jakarta

The Iranian government arrested a prominent artist, Hengameh Ghaziani, who let him go hijabs in a video. Hengameh Ghaziani is known for having frequently criticized the Iranian government over its crackdown on protesters.

According to reports by AFP on Sunday (20/11/2022), the video appears to have been shot in a shopping street. Ghatians without hijabs face the camera and speak, then turn and tie their hair into a ponytail.

In a post last week, he accused the Iranian government of “killing children” for “killing” more than 50 children.

The 52-year-old movie star said he was being subpoenaed by the court. She then posted a video on Instagram in which she takes off the mandatory hijab.

“Maybe this will be my last post,” he wrote last Saturday.

“From now on, whatever happens to me, know that as always, I will be with the Iranian people until my last breath.”

According to judicial news website Mizan Online, Ghaziani was among eight people summoned by prosecutors over “provocative” material posted on social media.

Iran’s clerical leadership has been rocked by more than two months of women-led demonstrations sparked by the death in custody of Mahsa Amini. Amini, a 22-year-old woman of Kurdish origin, died after being arrested by the morality police in Tehran.
