Burkina Faso Graduates 275 New Civil Servants, Ready to Serve Amidst Security Challenges
Logofourousso, Burkina Faso – On November 29, 2024, a new generation of civil servants emerged, ready to tackle the complex challenges facing Burkina Faso.
At the Hauts-Bassins Regional Administrative Institute, 275 graduates, dubbed the "Audacity" class, marked the culmination of their training with a formal ceremony. This graduating class enters a critical period for the nation, with the theme of the ceremony directly addressing the urgent need for capable and dedicated public servants: "The ability to serve in the context of a security crisis."
General Secretary Houet Sombeniwendé Nikiema, representing Governor Mariama Konaté/Gnanou, dispensed crucial advice to the new graduates. “You must always put the good of the country before you in everything you do, and serve with loyalty," Nikiema underscored.
The graduating class, lauded for their impressive performance, achieved a 100% success rate. Tahirou Barry, Director of the Hauts-Bassins Regional Administrative Institute, expressed his ambitious vision for the institution: "We want to make the IRA a center of fame and greatness throughout Africa.”
Barry acknowledged the graduates’ dedication, stating, “The current promotion achieved 100% results where the valedictorian scored an average of 18.20 / 20.” He urged the graduates to serve as role models, inspiring future generations of civil servants.
Boukary Savadogo, a representative of the 2022-2024 graduating class, pledged, “The training was long but intellectually rich. We will do everything to apply what we learned in school. We will be the VDPs of the Burkinabè administration.”
Leading the class is Martine Kaboré, the valedictorian, who achieved an impressive average of 18.20/20 in the assistant cycle in Human Resource Management and Administrative Management.
“I am very happy with these results," Kaboré said expressing her gratitude. "I would like to thank my parents who enrolled me in school, my supervisors and the IRA/Hauts-Bassins because that is why I was able to achieve this achievement." In recognition of her achievement, Kaboré received a patent from the IRA/Hauts-Bassins, an Android cell phone, and a laptop.
The ceremony concluded with the awarding of honors to outstanding individuals, faculty members, and exceptional projects within the graduating class.
