Iqama fee in Saudi Arabia can be renewed four times a year Pravasi | Deshabhimani

Riyadh> Resident Permit (Iqama) for foreign workers in Saudi Arabia can now be taken or renewed for only three months. The first-time worker in the country had to pay the full fee for one year to take the first iqama or renew it for the existing one. The Saudi cabinet has now changed that move.

The amount due in a year can be paid four times and taken or renewed only for such periods. At present, it costs about 12,000 riyals a year, including iqama fees, levies and health insurance. It will be a relief for the expatriates and their employers to be able to pay it in four installments.

The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by King Salman, approved the proposal of the Ministry of Manpower. This benefit does not apply to domestic workers such as house drivers and housemaids. Renewal of iqama costs only 650 riyals a year as they have no levy.
