Ippon, a leading manufacturer of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), ranked first in the Russian UPS market in 2022 in terms of sales both in monetary and quantitative terms, reported in the report of the analytical company ITResearch.
According to ITResearch, during the fourth quarter of 2022, UPS sales in Russia amounted to about 400 thousand units worth about $109 million. Compared to the previous quarter, the market grew by 25% in quantitative terms and by 45% in monetary terms. Significant market growth is explained by the fact that at the end of the year the situation with the replacement of products of the largest vendors, which mainly worked in the infrastructure segment and left Russia due to sanctions, improved.
Summing up the results of 2022, ITResearch noted that sales of uninterruptible power supplies in Russia amounted to 1.13 million units in the amount of $312 million, which is 17% less than the result of 2021 in quantitative terms and 14% less in terms of money.
The Russian UPS market in 2022 lost almost all leading vendors. Schneider Electric, Eaton, ABB, Legrand, Vertiv are among those that officially stopped operations in Russia. They were actively replaced by new ones, primarily Russian manufacturers. According to ITResearch analysts, the share of equipment produced in the country (at least with a certificate) by the end of the year approached 15% in monetary terms.
At the end of 2022, Ippon became the leader, followed by APC by Schneider Electric, CyberPower and Powercom.
