Lucknow scored 199 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sam Curran took 3 wickets for Punjab. In reply, Punjab started batting and scored 49 runs without losing any wicket in 5 overs. Captain Shikhar Dhawan with 34 runs off 22 balls and Jonny Bairstow with 19 runs off 10 balls are at the crease.
Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul scored 35 runs for the first wicket for the Super Giants who won the toss and went into bat. Rahul returned with a catch to Jonny Bairstow for 15 runs. Devdat Patikal (9) returned in the sixth over to take Lucknow to 45 for 2. Rahul Chahar dropped Marcus Stoinis who started to smash. The player scored 19 runs in 12 balls.
On the other hand, De Kock, who played steady, was dismissed in the first ball of the 14th over. The player scored 54 runs off 38 balls with 2 sixes and 5 fours. The team score crossed 150 with captain Nicholas Puran smashing it. Kagiso Rabada clean bowled Puran who scored 42 runs off 21 balls. LSG will be led by Nicholas Puran in place of KL Rahul who is not fully recovered from injury. Today is also the debut match of Mayank Yadav and Manimaran Siddharth. Punjab Kings kept the same team from last match.
