well I have an iPhone SE 2020, an Apple Watch 2 and AirPods 2. To connect these gadgets to my iPhone I obviously use Bluetooth.
When I’m at home, I activate the iPhone’s Wifi to connect it to my box. I’ve noticed that it makes it much easier to switch AiPods from iPhone to iPad when I switch devices to listen or watch something. With bluetooth alone, it’s a bit chaotic and I often have to go through Settings to reconnect the headphones.
When I am away from my home, I turn off Wifi, but my Watch app asks me to re-enable Wifi to connect even though it seems to work only with Bluetooth.
And here is my question or rather my questions:
- Is Bluetooth + Wifi really always necessary to connect my Apple devices, AirPods and Watch, with my iPhone, even away from home? If yes, why ?
- If I have to leave my WiFi open constantly, apart from the additional consumption of the battery, what is the security risk, knowing that I have requested confirmation of access to unknown networks?
Thank you in advance for your answers !-
