After the presentation of the iPhone SE 2022 during the March 8 keynote, Samsung is preparing to retaliate this week, unveiling its new mid-range smartphones. On social networks, the Korean giant has just published a teaser for an event that will take place on March 17. And this one will be dedicated to the new Galaxy A smartphones.

As a reminder, while the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra target the high-end market, the Galaxy A were designed for the entry-level market and for the middle market. Samsung offers very cheap devices, but also mid-range smartphones equipped with 5G chips that will position themselves as a competitor to the iPhone SE 2022.
With the iPhone SE 2022 (5G), competition will be tough in the middle market. Samsung will surely put the package
Affordable smartphones have always been important to Samsung. But this year, the Korean giant will have to redouble its efforts, given that its future Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73 will face competition from an affordable iPhone.
As a reminder, the iPhone SE 2022 has a retro design (identical to the iPhone SE 2020 and the iPhone 8). On the other hand, thanks to the A15 chip and 4 GB RAM memory, this model is as efficient as the iPhone 13. In addition, thanks to the performance of this chip and its energy efficiency, compared to the iPhone SE 2020, the 2022 model has more battery life and a better camera (although the sensor isn’t very impressive).
Galaxy A53: one of the most interesting Android smartphones?
Many rumors are already circulating about the Galaxy A53, one of the smartphones that Samsung is expected to present on March 17. According to a source that was relayed by the Android Police site, the Galaxy A53 would have an Exynos 1280 processor, a camera with 4 sensors (main 64 megapixel + ultra wide-angle 12 megapixel + macro 5 megapixel + sensor 5 megapixel depth), 6 GB of RAM, as well as a 5000 mAh battery.

In addition, it is possible that Samsung will equip this smartphone with an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, to display fluid animations. And the front camera could have a resolution of 32 megapixels.
If this information is true, the Galaxy A53 could be one of the most interesting mid-range models on the Android ecosystem. But while this model is going to provide plenty of advantages over the 2022 iPhone SE, it won’t beat Apple’s affordable smartphone when it comes to processor power.
Nevertheless, like its predecessors, the Galaxy A53 should offer excellent value for money to anyone who wants an affordable Android smartphone, but with a decent technical sheet.
Of course, Apple isn’t Samsung’s only mid-range competitor. Brands like Redmi, Poco, Realme, or OnePlus also offer affordable smartphones with excellent value for money.
