iPhone models that will not receive iOS 16 have been announced

As the countdown begins for the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference 2022 (WWDC), many Apple users have started counting the days to meet the new operating system. However, according to new leaks, there will be three big iPhone models that will not receive iOS 16.

According to estimates, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE (1st generation) will not be able to benefit from the update.

Apple released the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus on September 25, 2015. On March 21, 2016, the company announced the iPhone SE 1, which takes its appearance from the iPhone 5s and its hardware from the iPhone 6s. These phones, which are almost 7 years old today, are now considered relatively old models.

NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT YET

For now, it is only a claim that these phones will not receive iOS 16. Apple has yet to make an official statement on the matter. However, as it is said, it seems possible that these devices will not be eligible for the update, due to their age and hardware.

WHY WON’T iPHONE 6S, 6S PLUS AND SE 1st GENERATION GET UPDATE?

The main reason Apple doesn’t offer updates to potentially obsolete iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and SE (1st generation) models is that the internal components of the devices can no longer run iOS effectively. Apple can give these devices the right to update if they wish. However, this seriously affects the user experience.

There is an obvious slowdown in the phone, crashes occur in applications. Therefore, the company may not give the last update to its users because it will not prefer such a thing.
