iPhone Called to Present Touch ID Feature

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Apple reportedly is developing a fingerprint scanner feature that is on the screen. This feature is predicted to be presented on iPhone new ones that will appear in late 2021.

There is no specific information about what products use this technology. However, Apple technicians say the technology will be available for the ‘S’ series, which is likely related to the iPhone 12.

Launch 9to5macOn the one hand, Apple is not planning major changes to its iPhone line this year. Those with knowledge of it said the small increase occurred because Apple had brought in a number of significant improvements in the last year, such as 5G and new designs.

The ‘S’ series is usually given to new iPhones with a small upgrade.

Minor changes to the latest iPhones, one of which is the on-screen fingerprint scanner, is expected to provide a new experience for users to unlock their iPhones, going beyond the passcode and Face ID facial recognition.

Apple is known to have abandoned the fingerprint sensor in 2017 when it launched the iPhone X. But Touch ID has remained a feature on cheaper Mac and iPhone laptops ever since.

Qualcomm Inc., which provides Apple with a 5G modem, earlier this month announced a faster on-screen fingerprint sensor.

Information about Touch ID on iPhone is nothing new. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had reported that Apple will release an iPhone with Face ID and Touch ID under the screen this year. Apart from that, L0vetodream has also reported that in-screen Touch ID will be coming to iPhone soon.

Giz China reported, Touch ID is considered to be comfortable in the environment when the user wears a mask, which is often not compatible with facial recognition.

The on-screen fingerprint reader, which has also been featured on Android phones for several years can also be faster than Face ID for some users. This feature makes it easier for users when they want to operate a cellphone.

Apple won’t remove the facial recognition scanner because it’s still useful for augmented reality and camera features.

The Covid-19 pandemic has also complicated the development of Apple products. Because Apple hardware engineers only work in the office a few days a week and a limited number. More companies are leaving jobs to Apple engineers in China.

Last year, the pandemic also delayed the launch of the iPhone 12. Even so, Apple was still able to include almost all the features it wanted, except for an accessory called ‘AirTags’, a tool for finding physical items like backpacks and keys.

The company plans to launch the accessory this year and. Samsung announced a similar tool earlier this month.
