Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – If you are still using the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X, replace the cellphone immediately before September. The reason is that all of these cellphones will not get the iOS 17 update which will be released next month.
This means that the operating systems of the three types of iPhone are only stuck on iOS 16 which was released last year. So you won’t be able to enjoy the features that Apple released through iOS 17.
This is actually common. For example on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 series which do not get the iOS 16 upgrade.
So, before iOS 17 is officially launched, it’s best to switch to a newer iPhone. If you sell the phone closer to the release of iOS 17 it seems that it will see a significant price drop.
Last year’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 series also lost almost half in value. When the iOS 16 beta was announced on June 6 and the public release on September 12 2022, the value of all cellphones was cut by 42.8, quoted Phone ArenaWednesday (9/8/2023).
The average price of mobile phones was cut by 7.8% on June 13. A week later or June 20 the price had gone up.
Price depreciation increased on August 29 by 30.3%. On September 12 it reached 42.8%.
If the same pattern occurs, then at the end of August the prices for the iPhone 8 and iPhone X will drop compared to the end of last June.
iPhones that Can Update iOS 17
If you want to replace the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, maybe you can wait until the latest iPhone 15 is released. In a report, the iPhone 15 will be released on September 13.
If you don’t want to wait, you can also look for iPhones that are still getting the iOS 17 update. The latest iPhone to get the update is the iPhone 14.
