iPhone 6 and SE are said to not receive iOS 15 update

Apple reportedly plans to end operating system updates for the series iPhone 6 and the 1st generation iPhone SE starting next year. Reports claim the two iPhone variants will not be able to use iOS 15.

Apple is said to only give the iPhone 6 and iPhone SE the opportunity to operate with iOS 14. Meanwhile, iOS 15 will be for the iPhone 7 and above.

Launch Apple Insider, Monday (23/11), it was not explained in detail why Apple did not allow the iPhone 6 and SE to use iOS 15. However, the restriction is usually related to the processor.

The iPhone 6 and SE processors are thought to not support the performance provided by iOS 15. The iPhone 6 and SE gen 1 are known to use the A9 chip.

Launch 9to5mac, The Verifier website reports that iOS 15 is rumored to be available in September 2021.

The Verifier has an accurate track record of Apple rumors. The media once accurately reported that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 won’t get updates after iOS 12.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were introduced in September 2015, followed by the iPhone SE in March 2016. The devices are very popular and have received software updates for over four years from Apple.

The 1st gen iPhone SE is virtually identical to the iPhone 6s in terms of design, but with the modern A13 processor inside. iPhone 12 mini is physically smaller, but offers a bigger display due to its edge-to-edge design, alongside the A14 processor and upgraded camera system.
